On February 27, 2025, the Planning Committee for the Regent Park Social Development Plan (SDP) convened to finalize details for the upcoming Stakeholders Table Meeting. Key attendees included Michael Rosenberg, Walied Khogali Ali, Kedar, Adonis Huggins, Deany Peters, and Farid. Brandy facilitated the meeting, during which the focus shifted to finalizing event logistics and securing a location.

The committee discussed the tentative booking of Daniel Spectrum for the event. While the venue appeared secured, questions remained about conditions tied to the booking, including a $200 staffing cost and whether the meeting’s food had to be sourced from the onsite café. The committee expressed concern over a lack of clear written confirmation, noting that previous issues with booking community spaces needed to be addressed. Farid was called into the meeting to provide clarity.

Farid explained that Daniel Spectrum’s event service team requires two paid staff members to be present during events, though the committee had negotiated the cost down from $42 to $25 per hour. He also clarified that there is no fee for using the space or equipment and confirmed that outside food is allowed, though collaborating with the café could support local entrepreneurs. If the committee opts out of the partnership, the staffing cost will remain a requirement.

The meeting then shifted to the proposed content for the Stakeholders Table Meeting. The committee plans to have working groups introduce themselves, outline their goals for the year, and engage attendees through Q&A sessions. This strategy aims to make the meeting more interactive, encourage new members to join, and foster deeper community collaboration.
