Generosity Shines at the Snowsuit Fundraiser in Rockland
By Izabela Daszkiewicz
Rockland, ON - In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Restaurant Broadway in Rockland hosted a breakfast fundraiser for the Snowsuit Fund, a charitable organization providing warm snowsuits to less fortunate children. Judith, a representative from the fund, expressed gratitude for the longstanding support of the Prescott Russell community.
"All year long, people can contribute through our website or at specific locations. The generosity of the community is what makes our mission possible," Judith stated.
Denis from the Optimist Club shared their commitment to supporting the cause, stating, "Every year, for the last three years, our club has donated $1,000 to the Snowsuit Fund. We aim to inspire the best in all kids, and this event aligns perfectly with our mission."
Restaurant Broadway, the venue for the event, contributes a percentage of their breakfast sales to the Snowsuit Fund. The owner from the restaurant highlighted the importance of supporting such initiatives, especially in challenging times like the ongoing pandemic.
The Mayor, present at the event, underscored the significance of the fundraiser. "Since 2014, Councilor Guillermo and I have been actively involved in this cause. It's a tremendous opportunity to raise funds for much-needed snowsuits in the community. The turnout today reflects the caring spirit of Rockland."
The Mayor also acknowledged the broader community support, stating, "I'm really happy to see as many people out today, and donations are flying in. Thank you to everyone for their contributions."
The breakfast fundraiser not only showcased the unity of the Rockland community but also emphasized the power of collective efforts in making a positive impact on the lives of local children.
