Treaty Ten News - July 15, 2022 - Ashley Morin Awareness Walk

Ashley Morin was last seen on July 10, 2018. To create awareness friends and family participated in the 4th and final walk from Saskatoon to North Battleford, Saskatchewan; a trip over 100km.

This is a story that is all to familiar and hits close to home for Aboriginal communities. It's a reality that leaves us with more questions then answers. In a time where media is consumed at such a fast pace, peoples attention will move on the next thing. So it's these walks that help keep stories like Ashley's in the news.

Our journalist Rick Laliberte joined the walk on July 10, 2022 to document the journey. We put our heart into creating this video and are very proud we could do our part in creating awareness. You can see how it affects an entire family, even for years after their loved one goes missing. Through the pain you can also see the love and support that comes through. The goal is to bring our loved ones home, find answers and make a change. No family should ever have to go through this kind of pain without closure. So in creating this episode we can do our part in creating awareness and keeping Ashley's name in the news so we can one day bring her home.

This video is dedicated to the family of Ashley Morin, and to all the families of missing and murdered indigenous woman. Never give up trying to bring your loved one home, keep that hope and faith forever.
