Harvest Manitoba need our Help.
Many people struggle putting food on the table and having shelter because of the pandemic and other personal reasons. People aren’t asking for much -- just enough food to feed their family.
Food banks have been even busier than ever to ensure that families have enough food on the table. There are many volunteers who want to help these starving families but because of Covid restrictions, aren't able to volunteer. It is also hard for people to donate food because when Covid-19 first hit, people were stocking up on food and other necessities to provide for their own needs. Because of these factors, food banks are in dire need of donations than ever before. The pandemic has created a huge demand so everyone can have food in their family and not have to worry about other necessities
In this episode of In Focus by U Multicultural Mark Aaron interviews Harvest Manitoba Advocacy and Impact Manager Meaghan Erebus. Manitoba Harvest provides programs and services to clients to clients of food banks and agencies across the province to prevent hunger and help lift people out of poverty.
Another job Meaghan Erbus does conducts research and engages clients to share their experiences, and works alongside community stakeholders and government towards evidence-based approaches, policies and long-term solutions to alleviate hunger and poverty in Manitoba.
Every dollar which people give will send meals to our neighbours in need of food. You can donate food to any food hamper located across Manitoba or you can also donate here.
