Many cultures get overshadowed by many other cultures here in Winnipeg. In, 21.1% Winnipeg residents are English ethnic, whereas Polish is 7.8% of the population.

Winnipeg's 2021 population is now estimated at 824,771 so Winnipeg has many different people living here. Winnipeg is a very cultured province, every year Winnipeg holds a multicultural two-week event called Folklorama. Folklorama promotes the ethnocultural diversity of Manitoba through entertainment and public celebrations of culture and education. It provides many cultural communities with the opportunity to promote and celebrate the intangible culture they host. But with Covid 19 they had to change how they promote cultures and ethnic groups in Winnipeg by doing online presentations and interactions. Folklorama's mission is to celebrate diversity and promoting cultural understanding to Winnipeggers about other cultures and countries. They have 40 different types of Pavillions and you have 2 weeks to visit all these amazing pavilions every year. You get to see performances from different cultures and eat food from the country you are watching 

In this episode of In Focus by U Multicultural Mark Aaron interviewed the director of Folklorama Tanya Williams on what changes they had to make to follow the Covid 19 restrictions and how to bring more cultural awareness to Winnipeg and as well the plans for 2021 and the future if the restrictions don’t get lighten up. Every year Folklorama has such huge successes in teaching people about the cultures that up Winnipeg communities make. Folklorama is the largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world.
