This week (Friday 4th December

- COVID-19 latest in Ontario and Prescott-Russell and Eastern Ontario as the outbreak at Russell Meadows Retirement Community is declared over;
- Enforcement and Educational Officers are deployed in the region to help businesses appropriately implement COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions;
- As we look into the "16 days of activism against gender-based violence" that started on the 25th of November, Prescott-Russell Interlude House announces the start of a new campaign, launching a new, secure, text and online chat platform dedicated to women victims of violence and abuse;
- Last week marked Addiction Awareness Week and we caught up with Nikolas Hotte from the Eastern Ontario Health Unit as we spoke about the substance abuse related issues in Eastern Ontario, what services are available for those suffering from addiction, and some of the ways you can help a friend of loved one in their time of need;
- Tucker House, in Clarence-Rockland, is dedicated to sustainability and although there are new faces in place the mission remains the same. We spoke to the team about there upcoming projects as well as the way they're attempting to provide some Christmas cheer;
- Firefighters are essential to our communities in so many ways, but with a lack of full-time employees these days, those departments are vitally made up of volunteers. We spoke to the Director of Emergency Services about their importance and how you can become one;
- and Are your passwords secure enough? A new study found that a staggering number of them are "easy to crack" but fear not, the City's Chief Information Officer tells us how you can boost your defenses.
