The gathering was enriched by the presence of Xum-tu-mus, Stephen Armstrong, who shared the poignant words and wisdom of his ancestors. His message resonated deeply with attendees, underscoring the importance of remembering and learning from the past.

The event opened with a captivating song by Tasha Faye Evans, reminding everyone of the universal language of love and the strength it brings to communal healing. Her performance set a heartfelt tone for the day’s proceedings.

Adding to the spiritual ambiance, Darquise Desnoyers performed an evocative flute piece that accompanied a moment of silence, releasing prayers and intentions for healing and reconciliation.

The Port Moody Arts Centre played a crucial role in the event, not only hosting the gathering but also contributing beautiful ceramic feathers, symbolizing hope and renewal. Their ongoing support was acknowledged with gratitude by all present.

The community of Port Moody continues to embrace the journey of reconciliation, committed to listening, learning, and taking meaningful action toward a more inclusive future.
