From Darkness to Hope: Fahim's Journey with Iranian Migrants in Vancouver
Every migrant has a story, and if we gather the stories of migrants, it will create a book with millions of pages. However, Canadian immigrants come here from different social, economic, and cultural backgrounds, and some see themselves as partners in shaping the nation's future. Canada is a refuge for many migrants who may not have security in their home countries for ideological reasons. Still, in Canada, they have the right to life and work regardless of their religion or beliefs.
One of the Iranian migrants in this city is the Iranian priest Fahim Moeini, who serves at the Persian-language church in Vancouver. He has a dark past but intends to create a bright future for himself and others in Canada. He benefits from Canada's openness and helps others have a better life with his new religious belief.
Priest Fahim says, "I used to be a social outcast, engaged in drug dealing in the streets, and nobody liked me."
Fahim continues, "My life was heading towards destruction, and I was involved in illegal activities for a long time in Pakistan, eventually intending to commit suicide."
Fahim's acquaintance with a priest and his migration to Canada changes his life. In Canada, contrary to his past direction, he corrected his life and serves people to make amends for his past.
Priest Fahim promises to discuss more details of his cooperation and efforts for new immigrant migrants in another program. He is now one of the sources helping newly arrived Iranian migrants.
