Saint Andrews resident Dominique Berlenger made a presentation at the beginning of the first June 2023 council meeting for the Municipality of Saint Andrews. Berlenger's presentation focused on his proposal for an apartment building on Reed Avenue, emphasizing the need for accommodations in the growing town. Berlenger said he hopes to turn a recently purchased large residential building into an apartment complex for his employees of The Kennedy Inn. Council said they appreciated hearing from him and value his commitment to ther community and addressing the housing crisis. Council then proceeded to approve minutes of previous meetings.

Council discussed a recent forest fire in nearby Bocabec as well as in the town limits of Chamcook, expressing their gratitude to the volunteer fire department, mutual aid departments, and the provincial Department of Natural Resources. Council also recognized the Red Cross for providing support and resources to evacuees.

Council then addressed the second and third readings of a bylaw regarding dangerous or unsightly premises, approving it. Fire protection on the wharf was also discussed, and council decided to purchase additional hosing to support this.

Lastly, council discussed the weekly Saturday concert series planned for Market Square for summer 2023. While they acknowledged opposition from a few businesses due to limited parking in the downtown area (the weekly musical showcase would require limited parking near Market Square on Saturdays to accommodate the concert venue), council said they appreciate the community's enthusiasm and believe the initiative will add to excitement during the busy summer tourism season.
